About
Learn more about what is water stewardship and the Water Stewardship Indonesia (WSI) itself.
Water Stewardship
Water Stewardship enables water users to work together to identify and achieve common goals for sustainable water management and shared water security. Good water stewardship is defined as the use of water that is socially and culturally equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial, achieved through a stakeholder-inclusive process that includes both site and catchment-based actions.
AWS water stewardship approach is embodied in the International Water Stewardship Standard (AWS Standard). AWS has been independently evaluated against ISEAL’s Codes of Good Practice - a globally recognised framework for effective, credible sustainability systems.
Yayasan Aliansi Wali Sumber Daya Air Indonesia
Water Stewardship Indonesia (WSI) is registered as Yayasan Aliansi Wali Sumber Daya Air Indonesia (Indonesian registered foundation number AHU-0013083.AH.01.04). The foundation is established in 2019 to grow and strengthen the leadership of stakeholders in Indonesia in caring for and managing water resources convincingly and reliably that preserve the implementation of the social, cultural, and economic values of water.
Water Stewardship Indonesia (WSI) wants to inspire users and managers of water to actively participate in maintaining and taking care of water resources on the land of Indonesia.
Since 2019, Water Stewardship Indonesia (WSI) has been an active promoter of good water stewardship and became a partner of Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) and, together with Water Stewardship Asia Pacific (WSAP) to promote water stewardship.
Theory of Change (ToC)
A theory of change (ToC) is a clear statement describing an organization’s approach to creating social change, which links its big-picture mission and strategy to its program operations on the ground (capacityinstitute.org). It is facilitating an in-depth exploration of values, beliefs, and views on how change happens and furthermore, it analyses stakeholders, systems, and power to ascertain where the organisation can collaborate and partner with (bond.org.uk).
The development of WSI’s Theory of Change is essential and core strategic planning to achieve our goal.
Please contact WSI Executive Director, (Mr) Fany Wedahuditama if you have any questions.
